Take extra care about the pool safety or else even your child might have to face a fate like that of 6-year-old Abigail Taylor, who had to loose a part of her intestinal tract to the powerful suction of the pool’s drain.
It was due to the carelessness of the swimming pool authorities, the drain was not covered properly and the suction was so powerful that it caused a 2-inch-tear in girl’s rectum and pulled out a considerable part of her intestine. Result: Doctors had to remove the rest of the intestine and all through her life, Abigail will receive nutrition through a port, the doctors said.
It was the price of somebody else’s carelessness that the poor girl will pay foe the rest of her life. So as a parent and as a swimming coach make sure, the club where your child goes to swim is well taken care of and well managed.
