Study: 'Foetus can't feel pain'

A Psychologist argues that human foetuses do not feel pain although it can produce response to a pain stimulus. According to the British Medical Journal, the basic physical mechanisms need to feel pain do not develop until the 26th week of pregnancy.

The issue of foetal pain has become central to the ongoing battles about abortion in the US. It is about to mandatory for pain reducing drugs to be used before abortion at later than 22 weeks. This proposal is based on the belief that foetuses do feel pain.
