When it comes to exercise then older people prefer to do it alone, a new study by researchers at the University of British Columbia unveils. This conclusion is based on the study, which studied the behaviors of 947 people, ranging in age from 30 to 92 and found that when people between the ages 30 to 40 years of age were asked that how they would feel if asked to workout with guys in their 20s and the answer was: yes, sure. On the other end, when people between their 60s and 70s were asked the same question then they replied negatively. This shows that older peopled don’t feel better to exercise amongst young guys.
It seems that generation gap is playing its role even in the gymnasium. Personally, I believe that reason behind older people’s reluctance to workout amidst young people the age factor or may be that they don’t feel comfortable doing exercise while see young guys pumping their bigger muscles.
As the following words of Beauchamp reveals:
All this study highlights is older adults can exercise in environments that are socially supportive.
