Liquid diets are considered important for weight loss. Not all the liquid diets are equally effective and result producing. Old fashioned liquid diets were one of the best ways to lose weight rapidly. People used to follow these diets to shed of few pounds within 10 to 15 days. Smoothie Diet is one of the most effective diets from the liquid foods category.

The diet is all about drinking smoothies as main meals for few days. Once you have lost the weight, you are allowed to go back to your normal diet. The diet is all about changing eating habits. Introducing fruits and vegetables as the main source of nutrition in your life can be the cause to weight reduction.

The diet allows dieter to have a healthy eating plan. Don’t replace your whole day’s nutrition with one liquid meal. They key principle of this diet is to replace 2 meals of the day with smoothies. Have a regular meal from healthy food sources for the 3rd meal of the day. In this way, you are able to meet the requirement of other nutrition else than those nutrients that you gain from smoothie.

There is no specific quantity or time schedule to drink the smoothie. You are free to choose the vegetable and fruit to prepare smoothie. Most popular and effective smoothies are made from berry fruits.

Substitute the highest caloric meal with low calorie smoothie. Usually, the highest caloric meal is dinner. Spaghetti and meatball is a dinner option that we consume in our daily life. It contains 480calories per serving. You are recommended to replace it with strawberry or blueberry smoothie that contains 200calories per serving.

Sample Smoothie Recipe

Have 1cup blueberries, 1cup almond milk, half banana, 1tbs powdered maca and handful of goji berries.  You may blend the mixture in a blender and serve with addition of ice.

Avoid consuming powders, syrups and sugars when you are on Smoothie Diet. Don’t prepare smoothies with inclusion of whole milk.
