Schools to impart sex, drugs education in India

The HIV/AIDS virus is spreading out in India expeditiously. According to a report of United Nations, 5.7 million Indians are living with this virus. However, some activists are nourishing the belief that actual figures are much higher than this.

Expressing a deep concern about this problem National Examination Board of India is ready to come up with a new program that aims at teaching pupils at kindergartens about sexual abuse, HIV/AIDS, nutrition and hygiene.

Throwing more light on this program Usha Ram, a school principal said:

Topics related to sexual changes at puberty, substance abuse, myths concerning the reproductive growth of a child and sexually transmitted diseases would be part of the curriculum.

However, a bigger section of the people of conservative India is against such movements but some activists believe that it is necessary to embank the spread of this deadly virus.
