RMIT University fears mobile towers cause brain tumors

RMIT University has closed the top two floors of its building in Melbourne. It has done because of health concerns. Seven staff members have developed brain tumors over the past seven years working in the top two floors. The first incident was reported in 1999.

The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) called on University management to ensure the health and safety. It expressed concern over the possible link between the top two floor and the roof’s mobile phone towers.

Telstra, the owner of mobile phone towers on the building roof, said that all the equipments meet the terms with health and safety standards.
