How to Get Rid of Sunburn

The problem that most of you experience while back from any outdoor activities (usually) in summer is the sunburn. You need to take lots of protection for that as this not only leaves ugly marks but also the itchy rashes and dry wrinkled skin. Sunburn is caused when leaving tissues of the skin remain exposed to the sun for a longer time.

The ultraviolet rays of sun burn the upper layer of your skin which causes itches, blisters, rashes and redness. You experience a very uncomfortable situation. But you cannot cancel your summer outing for this minor problem. There are lot of protections you can take to avoid sunburn. Here’re some instructions and tips on how to get rid of it. 1. Yogurt

2. Turmeric powder

3. Olive oil

4. Vinegar

5. Cold milk

6. Sandalwood paste

Instructions:

1. Yogurt and turmeric powder

In a clean bowl take a tsp of yogurt and mix it with a pinch of turmeric powder. First wash your sunburn area with water and do not rub it with anything. Now, after your skin gets dried off apply this mixture and leave it for 30 minutes. Again wash it with cold water. Repeat it for 2-3 days after which your sunburn will disappear.

2. Olive oil and Vinegar

Take 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp of vinegar in a bowl and mix it together. Apply it on your sunburn. Keep it for 1 hour. The redness, itch and pain of your sunburn will go away. Keep on repeating this for 2-3 days.

3. Cold milk and sandalwood paste

Wash your sunburn area and apply cold milk straight from the refrigerator. Milk contains cream that helps soothe your dry sunburn skin very quickly. You can also mix sandalwood powder with water and form a paste. Now, apply this paste to your sunburn affected area and leave it for 45 minutes. Wash it with cold water.

4. Tomato juice and buttermilk

Crush tomato and squeeze off some juice in a bowl. Mix tomato juice with butter milk and apply this mixture on your sunburn skin. After i hour wash it with cold water. The tomato juice and butter milk helps removing the tan color of your skin and eliminating sunburn rashes.

When you are planning to remain exposed to the sun for a longer time, have a check on the cloths you are wearing. Try to wear something very loose and preferably white or light colour. Cottons can be the best option during summer. Tight fitting cloths can get more irritation during sunburn. Keep yourself hydrated. Drink lots of water and fruit juices. Wear broad hats and full sleeve t-shirts. This will cover your exposed area and reduce the risk of sunburn. Eat lots of nutritious foods and water. Before going out, take 1 tbsp of yogurt and apply it over your hands, face and neck area. Leave it to dry up. Wash with cold water. This will protect your skin from getting burnt. After coming back, apply the same and wash off with water. Take normal temperature water bath or shower. You will feel more relaxed.

2. Rub your face, neck and hands with cold milk twice a day. Milk is a natural cleanser and also helps reducing redness and sunburn itches.

1. Check for sunscreen lotion available in the market. After applying if you feel irritation for longer time, stop using it.

2. Never peel the sunburn skin; it may leave very ugly mark on your skin.

3. Avoid taking hot shower after sunburn as it may lead to more skin damage.
