Lice in hair can be very irritating and humiliating as well. They can make the scalp itchy. Lice are basically parasites that are capable of infesting the scalp and sucking blood from it. They are generally transmitted from one person to another through contact, sharing of clothes or in any other ways. Almost anyone can get infested with lice, be it children or adults. It is not easy to get rid of these annoying parasites at once as it is a continuous process and requires loads of efforts. 1. Set your mind for a long ordeal

Getting rid of lice is not easy or a one-day affair and you will have to be prepared to give this task good amount of time for a couple of days. It is easier to get rid of the adult lice and the immature ones but as far as the eggs are concerned, you will have to face real tough times to get rid of them. You will have to remove the eggs constantly otherwise they will hatch and new lice will start growing.

2. Get the products required

First of all, buy yourself a good quality anti-lice shampoo or lice treatment shampoo. You can easily find this shampoo at the departmental store or from a pharmacist. You will need a nit comb. Nit is the common name of the eggs of lice. This comb has very tiny teeth and manages to remove lice and their eggs easily. If you fail to find a nit comb, just settle with a flea comb of your pet.

3. Get started

Get started with the process of removing the annoying lice from your hair. First, apply anti-lice treatment through the entire length of your hair and scalp. If you have very long hair you might need more than one bottle of treatment. Prior to applying make sure you have read the instructions mentioned on the carton of the lice treatment. Go as per the instructions.

4. Remove the treatment

After keeping the treatment in your hair for the recommended time, you will have to remove it thoroughly. Do not use your normal shampoo and conditioner on your hair for two days at least. Use lice shampoo if it is mentioned on the treatment’s instruction.

5. Change clothes

Once you have taken the treatment do not forget to change your clothes so that any lice from those cloths does not get back in your hair and ruin the entire treatment.

6. Remove the lice

Wait for some hours depending on the time mentioned on the treatment’s instructions. Afterwards, use a nit comb to remove the dead and living lice from your hair. You will also be able to remove nits from your hair. Take help from someone for this task, ask him or her to check your scalp.

7. Repeat

Do not forget about the treatment after one session as you might have to continue this treatment for couple of weeks to get rid of lice completely. Repeat the treatment every ten days.

8. Clean the belongings

Clean all your belonging for any remaining of lice. Wash your bed covers, pillow covers, towels, clothes etc. in warm water. Also, clean your comb or brush before using them.
