You take several measures to see that you are not diverted from your diet regime when you are with your colleagues in your office or with your friends on dinner. But what about your home and specially your refrigerator where there is a host of calories which can be consumed by you through means of unhealthy foods. So here is a list of those unhealthy foods which you have to get rid of from your refrigerator.

1. Take that mayonnaise out

One spoon of mayonnaise will surely not so any harm to you. But you as a mayonnaise lover will surely will not be satisfied with that one spoon and will spread on layers and layers of mayo on your bread and consume almost 360 calories and 40 grams of fat. You can substitute mayonnaise with a lower-calorie condiment or a light mayonnaise.

2. Beverages containing alcohol

Take out all the beverages that contain alcohol and substitute them with much healthier drinks. The calories generated through alcohol are a waste and just help lever to convert those calories into fatty acids. These fats can be very well be seen the next day. So to avoid these fats substitute those alcoholic drinks with healthy drinks and enjoy them whenever you feel like.

3. Sweet drinks and drinks containing soda

Similar to alcoholic drinks, they are empty and hence the liver is forced to convert them into fatty acids and infuse calories in us. Plain water works best in keeping your body hydrated. Processed lunchmeats are different types of sausages or meat that is sliced and served cold. They are a favorite as they serve as a great fast food option. However, they are very unhealthy as they contain plenty of sodium and fat. One small serving of lunchmeat serves 310 to 480 milligrams of sodium, which is a major cause of high blood pressure, stroke, etc. You can have sliced turkey, chicken, or roast beef in your fridge and have healthy diet.

5. Hot dogs and sausages

They form a staple food in the refrigerator and are one of the reasons for people to gain calories. As they can be cooked easily and serve as a brilliant idea for fast food, they are eaten while having breakfast, lunch and dinner too. Each serving of hot dog and sausages contain up to 23 grams of fat and 7 grams of saturated fats. You can go in for leaner meat, grill it, and enjoy it to your fullest.

We all love it and are just tempted to grab it every time we see it in our refrigerators. However, you overload yourselves with calories and saturated fats by only one cup of ice cream. If you cannot control yourself having them, you can always try ice creams with low fat, low sugar, and one with lower calorie count. You can also go for no-fat yogurt while having desserts.

7. Whole-milk products

No doubt, they are good in calcium, proteins, riboflavin, etc.; they contain ample fats and cholesterol in them too. You cannot say that they are unhealthy but they are enough to infuse many calories in our body. You collect ample amount of calories in your body just by one glass of whole milk. You can go in for dairy products that are low fat and thus get the actual benefit from these dairy products.

8. Creamy salad dressing

You love cooking and have a host of sauces and salad dressing bottles in your refrigerator. No matter they add good taste to your salad, every tablespoon of these creamy salad dressings contain 120 calories, 12 grams of fat, and 380 milligrams of sodium to your salad. Therefore, your healthy salad is healthy no more. So limit those creamy dressing to your salad and instead have just a bowl of healthy salad.

9. Butter or margarine

Each tablespoon contains 100 calories 11 grams of fat. Imagine these many calories in your body everyday, every time you have breakfast. You can use reduced fat margarine or whipped butter to cut down that calorie count.

No wonder you are fond of munching these frozen French fries, but these potato couch products contain 8-11 grams of total fat, around 3 grams of saturated fat, and 390-540 milligrams of sodium. Those fond of munching while watching movies can go for baked or roasted potatoes, which will give nutrients of potatoes without any fats and sodium.

So remember to keep your eating habits in check and stay healthy.
