Quick weight loss with fruit salad?

I’m quite overweight and would like to lose weight within a short span of time. I can’t dedicate much time to extreanous exercises, however, yet I’m ready to follow a strict diet regime. What about eating salads. I’ve heard that including more and more fruit salad in daily diet can have a considerable impact on my weight, if I cut down on other things along with it. What do you suggest?
