Pritikin Diet is based on grains, fruits and vegetables. Plant based foods are ideal to consume if you wish to stay on the path of health. suggests that dieters should emphasize on eating unprocessed, natural and whole carbohydrates like fruit, veggies and grains. Other foods to include in this diet are:

  • Strawberry

  • Millet
  • Apples
  • Bananas
  • Squash
  • Potatoes
  • Dark green leafy vegetables
  • Beans (lima, pinto, black beans and lentils)

Few whole grains must be consumed in moderate amount. Oatmeal and white flour pasta should be consumed in low quantity and less often.

More Guidelines –

  • Eat small portions of low fat dairy products, chicken and lean beef.
  • Fish is absolutely fine to eat. You may have 3 servings per week. Salmon and other omega 3 fatty acids are good to include.
  • Fried foods must be avoided.
  • 3 meals along 2 snacks are ideal to consume in a day.
  • Avoid having an intake of salty foods.
  • Artificial sweeteners should be included in moderation.

Dieters are recommended to stay motivated on the diet. Fighting with food cravings and starvation can be difficult at times.
