Prezista, also know as TMC114, treats dead set against strains of HIV. The US Food and Drug Administration have approved the use of Prezista. Johnson & Johnson make the drug.
Dr. Steven Deeks of the University of California said that the prescribing J&J drug is vastly defiant to existing HIV drugs until it combined with a second compound.
The drug works in combination with a low dose of an older protease inhibitor called ritonavir. It makes slow the process of breakdown of Prezista in the body that increases its absorption in a patient’s immune system.
