Postpartum blues: Mamas need to stretch for sanity

Most women say bye to their baby blues by taking up Pilates, yoga or other lightweight exercises. The kind of exercise differs in each case. While some women might be interested in swimming, stretching, hiking or yoga, other mamas prefer a brisk walk or a stroll.

But it is not advisable for women to take up rigorous exercise after delivery. They need to exercise easy as resorting to strenuous exercises, might lead to abdominal pain and internal bleeding. Exercise after childbirth should be aimed at relieving mothers from physical and mental stiffness that might have gripped them during childbirth.
