Men's testosterone levels determine competitiveness

It is quite easy to know that whether a man would like to challenge back or not after losing a game. Researchers believe that all this depends on the level of testosterone; if testosterone level is high after losing competition, a man would like to compete again however, he’ll not if it’s low.

Before uncovering this fact, Josephs and Mehta studied more than 60 men who competed against each other in pairs. At the end of the competition, researchers measured the level of testosterone among these men and asked them that whether they would like to compete again or not. The researchers concluded that those with lower level of testosterone recoiled from competition again while men with higher level of testosterone expressed their desire to compete once again.

This study once again supports the fact that where higher level of testosterone impregnates a man with valor and manly spirit, its deficiency turns a man insipid. Moreover, the level of this hormone determines sex drive too. The following words of Dr. Pranjal Mehta, psychology researchers well unveil the impact of testosterone level in men’s life. He says: ‘When testosterone levels increase, we seem to become more dominant and driven to gain status. But, when testosterone levels drop, we seem to become more submissive.’
