Mangafodipir: an integral part of cancer therapy

Mangafodipir works as a contrast agent in hi-tech magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). French researchers found it increases the cancer-killing ability of some chemotherapy drugs as well, at the same time protects normal cells. Mangafodipir helps in the production of hydrogen peroxide and protects healthy cells from injuries.

Mangafodipir also protects the white blood cells taken from both the healthy volunteers and the cancer patients. It protects normal cells also. The Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the study details.
