McDonald to cut down the use of Trans fats by 2008!

This time, it was turn of the fast-food gaint McDonald’s to proclaim its concern about the use of Trans fats. Putting forward its concern, McDonald’s said that it aims at cutting down the use of trans fats to 2 percent in its products in Europe by the mid of 2008. It is interesting to know that McDonald’s is planning to step in with this move first in the countries like Sweden, Finland and Norway. However, McDonald’s is keeping mum on its plans in US.

Trans fats are highly responsible for clogging arteries. That is the reason why Trans fats have highly been criticized around the world. Other food companies like KFC and Wendy’s International Inc. have also come forward to reduce the use of Trans fats in their products, which I think is a good move.
