Long-term oestrogen-only hormone replacement therapy (HRT) raises the risk of breast cancer. The US study comes with this study. Earlier some research came into sight and ruled out any risk in the short or medium term therapy. Oestrogen-only HRT is usually held in reserve for women who had hysterectomies because it increases womb cancer risk.
The research suggested that HRT with combination of the oestrogen and progestogen can cause the risk of breast cancer. On the other hand some studies also suggested danger of same risk with the oestrogen-only form.
According to the report, the longer a woman used oestrogen, the higher her risk of breast cancer came out to be. Those are taking oestrogen for lesser than 10 years did not show to have a higher risk than those who never took hormones. But taking the hormone for more than twenty years showed a radically bigger risk.
