Legislative councillor issues warning to avoid possible human-animal cloning

Have you watched the horror movie “Godsend”, about a cloned boy born evil? Alright, it’s just a movie, but imagine something like that happening in the real world. It won’t be any better if humans are cloned with animals. To avoid something silly as that from happening; a legislative councillor named Rick Colless from Inverell, northern New South Wales, has warned those who pass new laws that could aid a possible use of humans in cloning research.

This warning has come at a time when the state’s Upper House has started debating the proposed laws passed in the Lower House earlier this month that seems to be somewhat lenient towards cloning based research.

According to Mr.Colless, if these laws are passed there would be a further relaxation of ethical norms in cloning; which could pave way to humans getting cloned with animals and also help MNCs that are waiting for an opportunity to make a business out of cloning.

The councillor said:

My concern is that similar multinational companies will head hunt leading researchers in the field of human biotechnology and eventually control the commercial research and development application of the therapeutic cloning process. Furthermore, those companies when driven by excessive potential profits will lobby governments over the globe to review practices as they develop potential profitable processes that are currently prohibited.

Well, let’s imagine our world if something like this man-animal stuff happens. All those Hollywood characters like the ones in “X-Men”, will live with us for real! For instance we will have this single and eligible horse-man who is too confused when he spots a cute girl riding on a lovely mare. If that doesn’t bother you, how about an amphibious fish-guy who can have a good time inside your aquarium. My goodness! Well, we should appreciate the councilor for saving us from an environment that may include a possible piggy-dude (see figure).

Thanks Mr.Colless.
