Hybrid Molecule 'weapon' found effective in fighting deadly cancer!

In a major breakthrough, researchers of Johns Hopkins University have developed a two-sided molecular weapon that has been found effective in fighting out cancer cells in lab tests. It has raised hope that very soon researchers would be able to fight deadly cancer quite effectively. The interesting thing about this hybrid molecule is that it has been developed by joining a sugar to a short-chain fatty acid compound. Telling more about this research work Gopalan Sampathkuma said:

For a long time, cancer researchers did not pay much attention to the use of sugars in fighting cancer… but we found that when the right sugar is matched with the right chemical partner, it could deliver a powerful double-whammy against cancer cells.

Research being carried out by Gopalan Sampathkuma and colleagues is particularly based upon 20-year-old findings, according to which a short-chain fatty acid called butyrate can slow the spread of cancer cells.

This can prove a significant achievement however, we should not forget that by now not a single experiment has been conducted neither on animals nor on human beings to know out the efficacy of this research.
