HPV vaccine must be made mandatory

The new HPV vaccine is swinging between medical and social ethics. While the former is taking drastic steps in making the HPV vaccine mandatory to avoid cervical cancer, the latter is stressing on abstinence from sex before marriage to avoid the same.
The conservative group is right in its own perspective, as restraining sex at young age can solve half the issue. However, this vaccine is exclusively developed to avoid cervical cancer, which can also be caused due to excessive smoking, race – cancer rates are high in women hailing from African American, Hispanic, and Native American origin. Merck’s Feinberg has also said that “there is no evidence to suggest that vaccinating children will promote sexual activity”.
Vaccinating every teenager before puberty will only be a preventive measure; and it should be made mandatory to cut down the growing mortality rate because of cervical cancer.
