Heart patients and patients of other medical complications might be affected from Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The August issue of the Harvard Heart Letter, has come out with the research saying this.
The earlier conception was that only the soldiers might be associated with Post-traumatic stress disorder. The term post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is usually used to explain the condition-affecting soldiers who return home from war.
The new findings say that PTSD has also been found among heart patients, people having major heart surgery, transplant, and the patients who had a defibrillator implanted. The report says further that PTSD might slow down recovery from emotionally critical situation conditions. It may worsen the heart disease.
