Torcetrapib is a new drug that has specially been made by drug manufacturer company, Pfizer to increase the level of ‘good’ cholesterol. Whereas it can be good news for the heart patients it can also be bad one since, because company has itself proclaimed that during clinical trials it was found that the use of this drug might shoot up blood pressure level too. However, the company, Pfizer still wants to submit this drug for FDA approval sometime in the second half of 2007.
However, experts are keeping the view that abovementioned side effect of this drug may compel FDA to think repeatedly before approving this drug.
Personally, I think that if somehow Pfizer manages to approve this drug from FDA then it would be very important for the doctors to prescribe this drug very carefully.
