Have fewer calories to reduce aging damage

Scientists at the University of Florida’s Institute on Aging have come to the conclusion after a research that less food and workouts can reduce or even reverse aging cells and organ damage in rats.

The research shows that even small reductions in calories can have life-size effects on health. The molecular process for aging is poorly understood till now. This finding shows that reducing intake of calories and a modest work out program is positive to liver functions.

The research supports the theory that cell death and aging-related organ damage are caused by unstable molecules like free radicals and by cellular oxidation and inflammation.

Christiaan Leeuwenburgh, an associate professor at the UF College of Medicine said,

‘The inflammatory response reduces in a calorie-restricted environment, and it prevents cell deaths’.
