Low consumption of calories may slow aging effect in the heart and body as well.

Primary aging co-relates with the duration of life. Secondary aging linked to diseases, such as heart disease or cancer. The second aging stops person to live the maximum duration of life span.

If a person does slow the primary aging he may increase the maximum duration of life span. Moreover, if he slows down the secondary aging, a person will perfectly reach to their projected lifespan.

Researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis conducted a study to know the effect of calorie cut on the life span.

The participants who got reduced calorie have shown reduced concentrations of a thyroid hormone called triiodothyronine (T3) that controls the energy balance and cellular metabolism in the body.

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism has published the report.
