German Pet Owners Advised Precautions Following Cat Death from Bird Flu

If you are living in Germany, stop sleeping with your pet in this prevailing bird flu virus contaminated air. The German officials warned cat owners yesterday on this. Following confirmation that a cat has died of the H5N1 avian flu virus, the officials have asked to keep pets indoors.

It was at the weekend, the cat was found on the Baltic island of Rugen, near to where most of Germany’s 121 cases of H5N1-infected wild birds have been found. Scientists at Germany’s Friedrich-Loeffler institute carried out tests on the animal and confirmed H5N1, which probably have eaten infected birds.
