'Gas-Free' Beans

Scientists of Simon Bolivar University have discovered a technique to remove the agents in beans that cause gas. The method increases the legume’s nutritional value by ninety-seven percent. Beans are cheap but people avoid it due to gas problem.

The bacteria in the large intestine break down the food. The high fiber foods such as beans cause gas during the process. After a research on it, scientists saw that the amount of gas significantly reduces after the fermentation of the beans with a bacterium. The scientists have got patent of the research and are looking further to place the new beans on the grocery shelf.
