Exercise can restrict growth of cancer cells

Exercise has so many advantages. Australian researchers of Monash Medical School have recently found another benefit of exercise. Exercise can restrict the growth of cancer cells too. It develops the anticancer effect of protein that obstructs cell growth and encourages cell death. However, the researchers are not sure that how much exercise is needed to show the effects. The journal Gut publishes this report.

The researchers calculated the baseline BMI, physical activity level of some people. They compared baseline levels of two proteins i.e. IGFBP-3, and IGF-1 with the earlier one.

Among physically active people, an increase in IGFBP-3 was associated with a forty-eight percent reduction in colon cancer-specific deaths. They showed no union with IGF-1. On the other hand, for the physically inactive people, there was no alliance between IGF-1 or IGFBP-3 and colon cancer survival any more.
