Scotland alerts the children hospitals on the outbreak of E coli 0157 infection. Three children were being treated for kidney failure in the hospitals. The two years old children were attended the same nursery. The source of the outbreak was not known yet.
The E.coli strains spread through food, milk, water, raw meat, animal faeces and also through incomplete sterilization of baby bottles. When the third child was admitted to the hospital, it was closed immediately and nurseries went under inspections.
A spokeswoman for the nursery said,
Yet there is no confirmation about the source, we have decided to close the nurseries to prevent any spread only for some time.
