Five Bulgarians nurses and a Palestinian doctor have been accused of deliberately infecting more than four hundred children with HIV, in the coastal town of Benghazi. Criminal court of Tripoli, Libya will hear the first session of the retrial.
The accused had their guilty verdict reversed by Supreme Court of Libya. The first trial lasted for six years, resulting in guilty verdict. The medics say, they were tortured into giving false confessions.
The prosecution and the defense seem ready for their second court battle. However, the international community was repeatedly asking for the release of the medics.
