The new American plate insists on a proportionate intake of all kinds of nutrition. The American Institute for Cancer Research has prepared a brochure for this purpose, which consists of 2/3 (or more) vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans and 1/3 (or less) meat and dairy products. In other words, it aims in diverting a person to plant foods from fats and proteins. It does not aim a fixing up a proportion but reducing it gradually to suit the body requirements.
The new American plate along with physical activity helps in fighting chronic diseases.
