Dealing with cold sores

Cold sores are generated by stress, sickness, sun exposure and by infection. Herpes simplex virus causes cold sores. The Nemours Foundation advises that although this is an infectious disease so avoid kissing, touching, sharing anything with others who have cold sores.

Cold sores are tiny, reddish wounds that appear usually on lips or on the corner of the mouth. After forming scabs, most of cold sores disappear by their own. Acetaminophen or aspirin sometimes helps to ease pain.
