Collaborative care can straighten eating habits of children

Finally, UK has come up with a practically applicable solution to the obesity epidemic. The experts in King’s College London have designed the Collaborative Caring Course, to equip parents to deal with the eating disorders of their children. In the first place, this workshop teaches the parents to look for signs and risk factors associated with anorexia nervosa so that the health professionals can take initiatives in the right time.
The follow up of the parents requires them to communicate healthy eating habits to their children. The course also informs parents about the facts related to anorexia, bulimia, and the consequential behavioral changes.
Professor Janet Treasure from The Eating Disorder Research Unit feels that eating disorders can be very ‘disruptive’ and family support and understanding alone can solve such issues.
