These two health agendas worrying both people and experts at all corners of the world would be at the spotlight of the World Health Organization’s new forthcoming guidelines.

The executive body of the WHO — the World Health Assembly — holds its 60th annual meeting at Geneva where delegates from 193 WHO member countries are due to attend the assembly. It would be attained also by non- governmental organizations and other health bodies.

Following Indonesia’s recent revolt over sharing of information and data provided by poorer countries to the wealthiest, developed nations for producing vaccines, which only they could afford — the assembly will be discussing bird-flu virus samples-assessments.

To run until May 23, the assembly would be addressed by Dr Margaret Chan for the first time after her election in November following the sudden death of her predecessor, Dr Lee Jong-wook.

The world seems to be setting eyes and ears to the assemble to be led by WHO’s new director-general, whose presidency would decide the fate of the planet at the hands of changing climate and bird flu virus.
