Citrus juice daily makes bone stronger: Research

A glass of citrus juice daily may prevent you from osteoporosis-related bone fractures. According to a new study, a regular dose of orange and grapefruit strengthens the bones. It may be helpful to prevent osteoporosis.

Dr. Farzad Deyhim, professor of human and animal nutrition center at Texas, a member of the research team says that osteoporosis occurs in people with growing age. The lower level of testosterone causes this problem in old age people.

During the research on mice at the Vegetable and Fruit Improvement Center, the researchers found that rats fed with orange and grapefruit juice showed improvement in bone density. The researchers are further planning to find out the actual compounds among 400 compounds in citrus juice that helps to enhance bone density.
