Cell phones may cause hearing loss

One of the most common sights we see these days, is that of people with their mobile phones next to their ears. A boon for better communication, cell phone usage nonetheless has many health hazards. Researchers say that long-time mobile phone users who talk more than an hour a day may be more likely to have high-frequency hearing loss. Long term usage of mobile phones has been linked to difficulties experienced in distinguishing sounds.

High-frequency sounds, such as those made by the letters s, f, h, t and z, are most likely to pose a difficulty. Early symptoms include a warm feeling in the ear, ringing in the ear or a feeling it is clogged up. Apart from hearing difficulties , long term exposure to mobile phone radiation is known to increase the blood pressure , cause memory loss and induce migraines.

Mobile phone users should limit their exposure to harmful radio frequencies by cutting the length of calls. Contrary to the popular belief, making use of Hands free with a speaker and cord that runs directly into the ears is not safe. It accelerates the damage even more badly. The best suggestion is to use a mobile phone that has a feature which includes an inbuilt speaker using which one can place the phone at a distance then speak and listen to avoid the radiations pass causing health hazards to mankind.
