Blacks mistrust health care system more than whites

Black American trusts less on the health care than white ones. A national survey on 432 balcks and 522 whites has shown it. The survey found low levels of faith among 45 percent of blacks compared to 33.5 percent of whites. The cause of the low level of faith may be the ignorance to go to the doctor’s clinic.

The interpersonal bond between patients and health care providers is an important part of patient trust. Race is not the factor behind the mistrust among black Americans. The lack of making effective bond with the patients in the health care people can be a factor. They should contact each one regardless of the racial or ethnic background. It may improve trust among them.

Blacks are less likely than whites to have insurance coverage and more likely to rely on public programs. So, the health care programs should be as more public program. To develop communication with patients is needed for providers. It may be important to focus on settings more likely to be used by black patients.
