Bird Flu Further Detected In New Lands — Greece, Italy and Bulgaria

It’s not the turn for Italy, Greece and Bulgaria, which seem not to spared too. The lethal A (H5N1) bird flu virus has been detected in wild birds here, European officials announced.

Although it was not clear if all 17 swans had been tested, testing at the National Avian Influenza Lab in Padua determined the cause to be the A(H5N1) virus.

Since the steady march of the virus from China, to Russia, to the Balkans to West Africa, the arrival of bird flu in Western Europe had been predicted for some months. All countries on the flight paths of the migrating birds are vulnerable, as it is being carried by them.
