The auspicious day of Christmas proved fatal for a 24-year-old woman from Jakarta, thanks to deadly bird flu that lulled her forever on this auspicious day after a long struggle of several days. With this death, total number of victims claimed by bird flu so far reaches the figure of 94.

Indonesia is not the only country wriggling under bird flu threat, as so far around 340 people in 13 different countries have contracted this virus since 2003, as per the reports issued by the World Health Organization. What adds to the severity of the problem is the fact that despite best efforts, launched globally to curb the menace of bird flu, it has managed to roll out in different parts of the world, somehow.

So, the question arises where we are failing to tackle it, exactly. Is there lack of coherence in our strategy to fight bird flu or is there lack of sufficient mechanism necessary to curb it. Well, whatever is the reason globally we will have to carve out a more effective as only then we can fight it more effectively.
