Artificial cornea may show exciting results in infants and adults!

Artificial cornea implant has come as a major breakthrough for adults and infants who are blind due to a cloudy or damaged cornea. Interestingly, this kind of artificial cornea implant is not only good for infants but for adults as well.

The device or artificial cornea used in this kind of treatment is called, Boston Keratoprosthesis. Rochester doctors found that results, which came from using this device, were quite prolific in infants and children whose age was between 6 weeks to 13 years.

The advent of Boston device or artificial cornea is a significant thing because it is quite trouble-free if compared to traditional corneas, which still constitute the great majority of transplants.
