Jaakko Kukkonen has developed a new method for urban air quality measurement process system. The method projects the release, spreading and a transformation model of road traffic emmission. The project was conducted at the Finnish Meteorological Institute. The methodological basis of this model has developed and applied in later research projects when studying the health effects of air pollution.
The developed models will be used to calculate health effects of air pollution with different traffic system plans in U S.
The research project is a part of Tekes’ technology program FINE Particles, Technology, Environment and Health. It has been funded through the EU Fifth Framework Program.
