AIDS increasing worldwide: says UN!

A report brought out by the United Nations that has naked the fact that there are about 39.5 million people living with AIDS worldwide has once again given a chance to deadly the deadly disease to mock at all the efforts made to vanquish it.

The strangest thing that has come out of the report states that countries like UK, US, that were supposed free from this deadly virus has also noticed increase in HIV/AIDS cases. On the other end, eight countries of Africa has noticed a sudden decline and experts give credit to the energy that was induced to fight this deadly virus in these countries. This shows that if aim is static then even limited resources can do wonders.

First, a glimpse at the burning issues associated with HIV/AIDS that shows how expeditiously situation is exacerbating round the world:-

Efforts to eradicate HIV/AIDS have not reached Prostitutes, injecting drug users and gay men, as vehemently as they should have reached.

Most of the gay men are indulging in unsafe sex and giving rise to HIV/AIDS.

Presently 39.5 million people are living with HIV/AIDS worldwide.

While in the year, 2004 figure of HIV/AIDS people just reached the figure of 36.9 million.

Just in the year 2006, 2.9 million people died of HIV/AIDS.

Just in the year 2006, about 4.3 million people trapped by deadly HIV/AIDS.

Since 2004 Eastern Europe and Central Asia has noticed an increase of 50 percent in HIV/AIDS cases.

The situation is exacerbating precipitously.

The statistics available are not very precise because countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and North Africa do not have proper surveillance system to bring out clear figures. In addition, there is privation of trained workers, laboratories and money to stave off HIV/AIDS spread.

However, surveys conducted between the period of 2000 and 2005 indicate that the use of condom has increased.

Developed countries considered free from deadly HIV/AIDS have shown a noticeable increase in HIV/AIDS cases and England emerged as a leader of such countries.

Presently England contains 63,500 adults living with deadly 63,500 adults living.

These facts clearly show that how bad mien this deadly disease is putting on. Lack of proper facilities and proper knowledge can be held responsible for the rise of deadly HIV/AIDS in developing countries of Africa, Middle East and Latin America. But my efforts to understand the basic reason behind this whopping rise in developed countries like England often end in smoke. And if we hold carelessness to safety measures, responsible for the rise in HIV/AIDS, especially in the countries like England, don’t you think there is some flaw in our strategy to fight out deadly HIV/AIDS. No doubt, the drop of HIV/AIDS cases in some African countries has given us a reason to elate but the rise of HIV/AIDS cases, especially in the countries like UK give us a reason to ponder on it all over again.

Sex-education can play a significant role in stinting the pathway of deadly HIV/AIDS but for that, we shall have to arm it with some more tools, more ideas and more strategies. Only then, in the fight against deadly HIV/AIDS we can come out victorious.
