After Dengue, Chikungunya makes its presence felt in India!

The wrath of dengue was already baffling most of the areas of India and now Chikungunya has also bubbled out in many states. The worst struck states include Kerala, Gujarat, Karnataka and Delhi. Central government is working with states governments so that the spread of deadly Chikungunya may be impeded.

By now 7.6 lakh cases of Chikungunya have been reported in Karnataka and over 43,000 in Kerala, with 90 deaths reported in Kerala and seven in Ahmedabad. Of the 28-chikungunya cases in Delhi, seven have been confirmed.

Only the time will tell how far state governments as well as central government manage to tackle this near epidemic.
