A new drug for lung cancer is on the way

Prof. Kim Sung-hoon at Seoul National University’s College of Pharmacy is on the way to find a new drug for lung cancer. He is developing the drug that will cause no adverse effects. He already discovered numerous substances for anti-lung cancer drugs.

He is now preparing for the pre-clinical tests in Australia. The finding of four substances for adverse-free, anti-lung cancer drugs are based on the discovery by Kim and his associates of an enzyme called p38.

Kim and his associates are making efforts to discover a ‘Gleevec for lung cancers’. Gleevec is a new drug for a certain type of leukemia. This drug is the first of its kind developed to fight cancer with reducing an enzyme responsible for the development of cancerous cells.
