FDA Warning: Cancer drug 'Avastin' may cause brain bleed and hole in nose!

Cancer patients need attention, as a new warning has come up their way relating to a drug use. So, be alert and check out for the drug and related caution.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned about a cancer drug called ‘Avastin’ used to treat colorectal cancer as the drug increases the risk for brain- bleeding condition and prospective nasal septum damage creating a hole in nose of the patients treated with Avastin.

The leakage of specific brain-vessel can cause headache, seizure, blindness and other vision and neurological problems.

This new warning is forwarded by ‘Genentec’ the Avastin drug maker to healthcare providers through pdf document. Further ‘Genentec’ also asked for the drug meant for treating highly developed lung and breast cancer for approval by FDA.

I believe the warning certainly helps the cancer patients and the health care providers, making them cautious regarding the use of drug Avastin. Besides, drug maker also need to make improvements in ‘the drug’ by providing least side-effects.
