A clean home protects us from sickness and other problems which a messy environment might create. We need to teach our children hygiene habits which are important both for their future health and socialization. Follow these simple tips to teach your kids important cleanliness habits:

1. Wash hands frequently

Frequent hand washing is one of the best ways to fight against germs and diseases. So we have to make a habit to wash hands not only before and after eating, but whenever we use something that may have germs like when we go to the washroom or when we come in from outside. With our hands we touch different parts of our body, like the eyes, ears, mouth, face. So make sure to inculcate the habit of washing hands in your kid.

2. Make a schedule
Make a habit to change and clean your bed sheets daily. Cleaning the bathrooms, clearing out cobwebs, dusting all items – these household activities should be done regularly and the children taught the importance of these.

3. Clean all spots and stains
Whenever you find some spot or stain on floor or in the washroom, clean it immediately. Keep a damp microfiber cloth or scrubber that helps you to clean spots easily. For the toilet pot, use store bought products to remove the spots.

4. Clean your sink
Clean your kitchen sink every day of the food particles that collect in the drain. Set aside 10 minutes every day to clean your kitchen.

5. Get up early
Make a habit of getting up early so that you can spend some time with your family before going to work. The morning is the best time to do household activities. In early morning everyone has a lot of work to do like cleaning your teeth, taking bath, getting fresh so to do all these things properly make a habit to get up early in the morning.

6. Wash clothes daily

Wash clothes daily

Instead of waiting for the weekend to wash clothes follow the habit of washing one load every day. You just need to put a load of laundry in the washing machine, transfer the load to the dryer and after that fold and put away the clothes. Washing clothes is so important because if you don’t wash your clothes than all family members will wear dirty clothes for 1-2 days and dirty clothes can be a big source of germs.

7. Buy good cleaning products
Don’t use an old T-shirt or old bath towels for a dusting or cleaning spots in the house. Dusting with old, dirty clothes will not serve the purpose. But quality cleaning products and tools, such as microfiber towels for cleaning, will keep you motivated to clean. Use your microfiber towels for glass, bathrooms, general cleaning, polishing and quality cleaning products, like sprayway and you’ll clean more often.

8. Remove shoes and slippers at the door
One of the easiest ways to keep your floor clean and germ free is to adopt a no-shoes policy within the house. Keeping your shoes at the door or outside your home will help keep unwanted chemicals, bacteria, dust, and dirt out of the house. A government study showed that household dust and chemicals can be reduced just by the presence of a good mat at the door and by not wearing shoes inside the house.

9. Have a junk drawer
There should be a place in your house to store random items that you don’t know where to store. It can be used when you are in hurry, and sometimes it’s just easier to dump everything into one place. It will help you and your family to keep your home neat and clean.

10. Keep your dustbin clean and closed
In some houses dustbins are of open style and due to this bacteria can easily breed. So use a dustbin with a lid.
