Wireless speakers are making a new place in the heart of audiophiles. If you are a music lover and have got bored of your wired speakers, then it’s the time to go for a Wireless speaker system. Wireless speakers are same as the wired one, but the only difference is that they don’t have wires. This makes your life simpler by cutting down the network of wires and its complications. Wireless speakers also work on the same principle as the wired speakers do. These speakers also need to translate an electric signal to an acoustic one, but the only difference is that they transmit these signals to the satellite speakers.

Technologies used in Wireless Speakers:

Wireless Speakers uses different technologies depending upon their usage. Some of the Technologies are:

1. FM (Frequency Modulation) transmission is used in some speakers. This involves Radio transmission of signals by the Transmitting system to all the receiving satellite speakers.

2. Infrared Transmission is also used in some of the Home Theatre systems. Mostly used for the speakers that create surround sound effect.

3. Bluetooth Transmission is most common and advanced nowadays. It works on latest Bluetooth technology.

Depending upon the technologies used the price and sound quality of speakers differs. Now let’s talk about how the speakers work.

Working Principle:

Wireless speakers basically have two components. First one is Transmitter (Base) system. This is incorporated with the part in which you insert CD or any other media. Second one is the Receiver, which is usually incorporated in the Satellite speakers. So here we discuss how it works:

1. As soon as you insert any CD or any media in the Media player it reads your data. This data gets converted to electrical signals.

2. Now it converts these electrical signals to acoustic signals.

3. These acoustic signals are then processed by the Transmitter system and transmitted as radio waves or Infrared waves as the case persists. This all depends on the type of Technology being used by your Wireless Speaker System.

4. These signals are received by the Satellite speakers using receiver systems. After receiving these wave form signals these satellite speakers convert them back to the sound form so that we can get a clear sound.

Miscellaneous Information:

1. Most of the Wireless Speakers work at 900 MHz frequency range.

2. Range of Wireless speakers is 150 to 300 feet from the Base Transmitter.

3. All the Satellite speakers are generally Battery operated. They need to be charged separately.

4. Wireless speakers need extra care for their proper functioning. Generally manufacturers claim that their speakers are weatherproof but extra care is needed for using in bad weather conditions.
