Resembling a ghetto blaster that any old school hip-hop music fan would have loved to have, the Mini MUTEKI iPod Dock Hi-Fi System is a new variety of an iPod dock system. Looks as if Sony has come up with a re-released version of a ghetto blaster, only with the latest updates seen in today’s technology. Except for the design part of it, the Mini MUTEKI iPod Dock Hi-Fi System has got in it most of the new trendy features you see in the market today.
What is it?
Looking at it, the Mini MUTEKI iPod Dock Hi-Fi System is quite big already, with the measurements being 600 x 385 x 395 mm. Maybe the solid black color makes it a more masculine device; not to forget the rugged outer design as well, which may not appeal to the ladies. But regarding the hardware, it has got almost everything suitable for you to play your favorite music. It has got a dock right at the top so that you can place your Apple iPod there. But it also has got a USB input and an auxiliary audio output, which means that the player don’t stick to just the iPod, but anything that can play music. You can use other players as well. And when it comes to performance, the device does okay, but not outstanding. One can but count on it during a party or some other outdoor event.

One of the most important features that would easily figure out here is that the Bass tones as they are revamped. Hence, the bass sounds can easily be boosted by the simple touch of a button. It has got a few inbuilt red and blue LED lights on it which continuously flash in sync with the beats in the song that is being played on it. It is obviously a fun effect for most of us, since it reminds us of our childhood days where radios came with similar features. But to those of you who feel it rather creepy, there is an option to switch them off, so you can feel better and more modern while listening to your favorite songs.
Price and availability
$349.00 seems to be a bit high on the price tag, but most Sony fanatics argue that it is worth the price. The Mini MUTEKI iPod Dock Hi-Fi System is available for purchase online and in all major retail stores. There is only one version of the device available, as Sony has released only the black colored version. Too bad there is no choice of color here.

Outdated design, a bit overly priced for the quality delivered, audio can sound muffled with bass boost enabled, heavy to be portable, and too big for an iPod dock.

The Sony Mini MUTEKI iPod Dock Hi-Fi System is one masterpiece if you ask us. Though it looks a tad retro or old fashioned, it never ceases to amaze you with the quality it delivers. An ideal music player for outdoor parties and events. But it may not be the best one in the market; especially when you consider the fact that the device is a tad overly priced for an iPod Dock. There are in fact many other iPod docks in the market, both a tad better and cheaper than the Sony Mini MUTEKI iPod Dock Hi-Fi System. But if you are a hardcore Sony fanatic, you have got to go with this one.
