Pebble watch with Misfit app: Review

Grow with Dr Prem

Your Pebble smart watch can now become a Smartphone-free pedometer, as Pebble has tied up with Misfit Shine to gain the charm of its new fitness-tracking app. The maker of simple yet stylish wearable gadgets is now working with this fitness-tracking firm in order to make its smart watches smarter.

Appearance

A simple-looking Pebble smart watch will now have an enhanced style with the Misfit activity tracker app. Now, this smart watch can work like a pedometer that no longer requires you to connect it to your Smartphone. A Pebble smart watch is waterproof and has minimalistic looks. When you use the Misfit tracker app on it, you receive a graphic interface that seems to be like the interface on a phone. On your watch’s screen, you may see a circular bar that displays the progress on your daily goals. You may also check the number of calories burnt, distance traveled and steps taken by you.

Performance

Pebble smart watches will now have the fitness ecosystem of Misfit Shine. A Pebble smart watch is able to support apps on both iOS and Android. However, we can soon expect an updated version of Misfit iOS. While Misfit’s user interface works well on Pebble watches, you may not be able to run this app in the background. While counting steps, you will have to keep this tracker app open.

Usefulness

The Misfit app can keep a good track of your general health and fitness activities. It not only tracks your steps taken, but also tracks the goals you have set to achieve daily. While it tracks several fitness factors for you, it currently does not track your sleep cycle as many other fitness-tracking apps can do. However, a later version of this app is expected to perform this function too. Thus, a Pebble watch with Misfit’s app is quite useful for people who wish to maintain general health on a daily basis.

Support services

To provide extra support to Pebble, Misfit will soon add the updated version of its fitness-tracking app to the iOS App Store. This will enable the app users to track additional fitness factors.

Reputation

As Google is expected to come up with its fresh smart watches and apps soon, Pebble wants to retain its reputation by bringing in something new for its customers. It has been trying to show that it is still actively present in the smart watch market. Thus, it ultimately acts in favor of its customers.
