Palm debuts Palm Centro for Sprint customers

Palm has unveiled its first low-cost, consumer-end mobile phone, called Palm Centro to pitch up young consumers and professionals. The new Palm Centro is equipped with wide range of features.

Palm is offering the Palm Centro phone exclusively with a two-year agreement from mobile carrier Sprint, Nextel. Company’s smallest and thinnest phone allows users to manage e-mail, keep track of schedules, media player, full color touch screen, detailed contacts list and high-speed 3G data access. 1) Superior Phone: Palm Centro is good combination of simplicity Palm OS and advanced features, like one-touch speakerphone, conference calling, ignore a call with text messaging and Bluetooth connectivity.

2) Easy Text Messaging with QWERTY keypad: The QWERTY keypad of Palm Centro makes it easy for you to type long messages and e-mails. It also makes easy for you to send pictures, audio and video clips. Palm Centro gives you style look in your conversations like when you use IM you can see the entire conversation unfold. Instant message your buddy list with direct access to Yahoo, Windows Live Messenger or AOL’s AIM service.

3) Personal and Corporate Email: The Palm Centro comes with easy mobile email solution using Microsoft Direct Push Technology for delivery of Outlook email as well as personal email, like Gmail, AOL and Yahoo.

4) Web Browsing: The Sprint Mobile Broadband Network offers you fast and web access. While the touch screen provide you easy access of online information. The in-built Google Maps application offers fast to directions, traffic updates and local search.

5) Multimedia: With the Palm Centro, you can easily manage songs with the help of Sprint Music Manager. Centro is the first Palm phone to include PocketTunes Deluxe, a $39.99 value. Shoot pictures or video with the built-in digital camera.

Palm Centro is available on the Sprint network. Sprint customers would be able to browse restaurant reviews from Google Maps, view YouTube videos and use the Sprint Messaging service.
