Mouse look-alike: Rei-11 portable music player

Grow with Dr Prem

A portable music player with a minimalistic-futuristic frontage, this one resembles a polished sparkling zen stone. Sporting a design that’s truly out-of-the world, the player looks and functions somewhat like a computer mouse, as the buttons operate with a click. Enjoy music on the go with ear plugs, which much to the listeners glee, are wireless! This player has been conceived by Siriphong Roongruengvuthikul, an automotive cum industrial designer.

How to operate?

When not listening to music, keep the player locked and unlock it whenever you feel like enjoying rhythms and beats. Just pull at the lower right edge to unlock, the indicators will glow in this position. After unlocking, the lower right hand quarter shifts from its original position indicating that the player is ready to strum sonic melodies. Three buttons for fast forward, rewind and play/pause are placed at the centre. There are no volume buttons as these are located on the ear plugs instead, tap on the plus or minus sign to turn the volume up or lower it.

What’s great?

Due to the unique quartet shape of the pull-out switch, it returns back to the original position as soon as you unhold the player. That means if you get interrupted while listening to music, the ovular edge shifts back locking the player again, which comes in handy when you have to shove the player back inside hurriedly.

A protective cover has been provided for the socket to safeguard it from dust and soil. The ovular body of the player is made from aluminum, quite a clever thought as the metal makes the player sturdy whilst rendering it flexibility. The player comes in four dim hues; from shades of black and gray to silver, while the LED for the buttons can glow in red, orangy-yellow or even silvery white.
